Dec 10, 2012 - Diving with dolphins in Miami

If you are visiting Miami in a charter bus, do take some time to visit the Miami Seaquarium, located on the island of Virginia Key on Biscayne Bay. It is the longest operating aquarium in the USA and is just a short charter bus ride away from Miami town.

The Miami Seaquarium is filled with lots of activities like interactive exhibits, shows and animal encounters. The most famous resident here was Flipper, the dolphin that appeared in 1960s TV series of the same name about the adventures of a dolphin. Majority of the series was shot in Miami Seaquarium. Although that particular dolphin is not here anymore, there are still lots of other dolphins here which is fun for both adults and children.

Now, the current star of Miami Seaquarium is a killer whale named Lolita. Between Lolita and her Pacific white-sided dolphin co-star, they totally steal the Whale and Dolphin Show away with their awesome tricks and jumps. These two sea mammals play an important role in educating visitors about marine conservation and life of a marine mammal.

Other than the show by Lolita and her sidekick, there are also other attractions such as the Seal and Sea Lion Show and the Top Deck Dolphin Show. You can also visit Discovery Bay where it is home to 26 Nile River crocodiles, white tailed deer, sea turtles, indigenous fish and rays, alligators and a host of native wild birds.

Don’t forget to also visit the Manatee Presentation where you can learn about the life and endangerment of these gentle sea cows. For something a little more exciting, visit the Shark Presentation where you can watch caretakers feed nurse sharks and why humans are more dangerous to sharks than they are to us.

If you need friendly, efficient, cost effective and stylish transport, call Charter Bus Florida for your ground transportation needs when visiting Miami Seaquarium.
